The intent of the Scott, Carter, Mumford Family website is to provide past and future knowledge of our heritage. The information in all cases may not be precise and must be accepted on an as is basis. This site is for the descendents of the following three families who traveled from Halifax County, North Carolina to southern Ohio in 1844:

Jefferson and Caroline Scott
Randall and Barbara Carter
William and Luvinia Mumford

The proud descendents of these families hold two reunions every year; one in southern Ohio and one in northern Ohio, with the exception that every 5 years the two reunions meet together at a mutually agreed upon location. Plans are currently being made for the 2012 reunions.
